ARTIST´S STATEMENT

You could describe my works with the word quiet. The wood I use is growing slowly in the meager soil of Finnish forest. The same meagernes is characteristic of the form in my works.
I have been inspired by modern architecture and minimalism in art and in architecture. On the other hand I am fascinated by the ancient believes of the old forest-living Finns. Old trees are carrying the history which I transfer in to these objects of art.
I believe the beauty is concealed in detail and quiet form.
